Loyola School observes Martyrs’ Day

Jamshedpur, Jan 31: Loyola School, Telco, in collaboration with the Gandhi Peace Foundation (GPF), commemorated Martyrs’ Day with a special program dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy of peace and non-violence.

The day began with a morning assembly where Laksh Verma of Class 9B spoke on the significance of Martyrs’ Day in India’s history. A key highlight was an exhibition featuring posters depicting Gandhi’s life, struggles and teachings, reinforcing their relevance in today’s world.

Fr. Gerald Ravi D’Souza, Administrator of Loyola School, emphasized the importance of Gandhi’s principles, stating, “In a world striving for peace, Gandhi’s message of non-violence and unity remains more important than ever.”

The event saw the presence of Charanjit Ohshan (Principal), Reshma Rodrigues (Senior School Coordinator), Zeenat Maria Sundi (Junior School Coordinator) and Colleen Xavier (Moderator). It was coordinated by Prem Sharma, Arvind Anjum, Prakash Rajak, Shashank Shekhar and Ankur Shashwat, with key contributions from the GPF team.

The Gandhi Peace Foundation, which promotes peace and social harmony across India, has actively collaborated with schools, including Loyola, to instill Gandhian values among students. The foundation’s founder highlighted Gandhi’s lasting impact, urging young minds to embrace non-violence and truth as guiding principles.
