Jamshedpur, April 24: Loyola School Jamshedpur celebrated Safety Week from April 20 to April 24, aiming to build awareness and preparedness among students on various safety aspects. The week-long programme was organised by the school’s SAFE Club and witnessed enthusiastic participation across classes.

The celebrations began on April 20 with creative competitions. Students of Classes 6 and 7 took part in a First Aid Box Making Competition, while those from Classes 8 to 10 showcased their artistic skills in a poster-making contest on the theme ‘Food Safety’. Winners were awarded medals for their efforts.

On April 21, a special session on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) was conducted for Class 12 students at St. Joseph’s Hall. The session was led by Dr. Binayendu Prakash, who shared practical knowledge on life-saving techniques and emergency response.

The focus shifted to emergency preparedness on April 22 with a fire safety drill conducted by a fire brigade official, who trained students and staff on handling fire emergencies. An evacuation drill followed on April 23 for students of Classes 6 to 12 under the supervision of sports teachers, ensuring awareness of safe exit procedures.

The week concluded on April 24 with a cyber safety presentation by the SAFE Club for junior students, highlighting responsible online behaviour.
