Jamshedpur: As the city of Jamshedpur, the nation, and the world, mourns the passing of one of India’s most treasured icons, Ratan N. Tata, the management, staff and students of Loyola School came together on Friday morning, to honour his memory and legacy during a solemn assembly.

The assembly, led in prayer by the Rector, Fr KM Joseph, witnessed a heartfelt tribute by the Management, staff and students, which included a prayer song, a tribute by a student, a Parsi Prayer and floral tribute.

Ritik Kumar, the School Vice President shared his profound feelings in a touching speech. He spoke about Tata’s rich legacy and his everlasting impact on the community.

Having studied at Campion School, Mumbai, a Jesuit institution, Ratan Tata’s connection to the values of Jesuit education was profound. His life exemplified the Jesuit spirit of “giving back to society” and working tirelessly for the welfare of others, especially the marginalized. Through his actions and leadership, Tata embodied the ideals of service, compassion, and selflessness that Jesuit education upholds.

Ritik highlighted the fact that Ratan Tata’s efforts were never just about building companies but about building a better, more equitable world for all.

Following Ritik’s heartfelt tribute, a Parsi prayer was recited which emphasized that true strength lies in love, charity, and forgiveness—values that Ratan Tata lived by. The assembly concluded with the Principal Fr Vinod Fernandes paying his homage to an inspirational leader, a towering personality and a role model. He urged the students of Loyola School to follow in his footsteps, committing themselves to creating a better, more compassionate world, aligning with the vision and mission of Jesuit education.
True, the world will never bid tata to Ratan.
