Jamshedpur: Loyola School organized the inaugural Fr. Cecil Leeming Volleyball Tournament in honour of its reverend founder principal, Fr. Cecil Leeming.

The event was more than just a competition—it was a celebration of sportsmanship and teamwork.

The tournament was inaugurated by Fr. Charles Pareira, S.J., former Provincial of Jamshedpur Province and Rector of Loyola School (1987-1993), who attended as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries included Fr. K.M. Joseph, S.J., Rector of Loyola School, Fr. Vinod Fernandes, S.J., Principal, and Jayanthi Sheshadri, Vice-Principal of the Senior Section. Alumni members and coaches from 13 participating schools were also present.

As a token of appreciation, Fr. Pareira was presented with a sapling by Fr. Fernandes and honoured with a shawl by Fr. Joseph. Fr. Fernandes then delivered the welcome address, followed by Fr. Pareira’s speech, officially declaring the tournament open.

The oath-taking ceremony was led by Raj Nandini Rana, a promising athlete from Loyola School, reaffirming the participants’ commitment to sportsmanship and fair play.
