Jamshedpur, April 12: Loyola School, Jamshedpur observed safety week with a series of engaging and educational activities organized by the SAFE Club. The week-long initiative aimed to raise awareness among students about road safety and emergency preparedness.

The event kicked off with a special assembly conducted by Plus Two students, who conveyed safety messages through a humorous stand-up comedy act. The performance shed light on common traffic violations such as riding without helmets, using mobile phones while driving, and ignoring traffic signals—highlighting the importance of adhering to safety rules in a relatable manner.

To promote creative expression, a poster-making and slogan-writing competition was held for students from Classes 6 to 12. Selected entries, themed around road safety, were displayed at the school gates, attracting the attention of parents, staff, and even passersby.

A key highlight of the week was an emergency evacuation drill that taught students how to respond effectively during disasters like fires or earthquakes. The drill was executed in a disciplined and orderly manner, helping students understand safe exit strategies and assembly points.

The week concluded with a thought-provoking talk show hosted by Sakshi Gupta, Siddharth Agarwal, Bavneet Kaur, and Sunil Parekh from the Young Indians Foundation.

The session focused on the Good Samaritan Law, which protects individuals who help accident victims. A quiz followed to assess students’ understanding of road safety rules.

Through these activities, Loyola students gained practical knowledge and a heightened sense of responsibility towards personal and community safety.
