Jamshedpur: Curtains came down on the two-day inter-school fest ‘Azionare’ organised by Loyola School.The fest provided students of the steel city an opportunity to showcase their hidden talent. Students from around 17 city schools participated in various events.
Around 500 students from 16 private schools participated in the competition. Azionare, an Italian word meaning to activate, aims to provide youngsters a platform where they can take showcase their talent apart from academic excellence.
During the two-day various competitive events like Tron Dance ( skeleton LED dance), Best out of Waste ( making articles out of junk and used items), soap carving ( making sculptures using soap)Start- up Sutra ( an entrepreneurship skills test), Thomas Paul Quiz ( on current affairs), Abacus ( counting skills of students), and making jewellery out of pasta were organised. The competition was inaugurated by Loyola School rector Father CL George.
Addressing the closing ceremony Father Pius Fernandes, principal of Loyola School, who emphasized on how important extra-curricular activities are for students and said that such initiatives to involve them should be regularly under taken.
He gave away the prizes to the winners. He lauded the efforts of the participating teams and said that event like these help students expand their learning and provide them a platform to showcase their talents.
