Jamshedpur, Oct. 3: A low pressure area originating from the Bay of Bengal coupled with an associated cyclonic circulation resulted in heavy showers in the city. IMDs both Ranchi and Patna Meteorological Centres said that Jharkhand is under the influence of a low pressure which originated from the central Bay of Bengal. This coupled with an associated cyclonic circulation of a good height extending upto 5.8 Km above mean sea level would result in a good spell of rain over Jharkhand during the next 48 hours.
The Ranchi Met Centre also issued an alert of thunderstorm and lightning in Ranchi, Chatra Palamu , Garhwa , Koderma and districts in Kolhan region – East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan – during the next 24 hours. A senior weather analyst at IMD’s Patna Met Centre said that the southwest monsoon is in its last phase.
According to weathermen at Patna, the low-pressure is gradually intensifying. � The monsoon trough normally sways during this time of the season. Monsoon was weak in Jharkhand because the trough had shifted away. However, it got reinstated due to the low pressure,� said a weather analyst at Patna.
