Seraikela: A Lok Adalat was inaugurated by the district and sessions judge of Seraikela-cum-president of District Legal Services Authority KK Srivastava.
Many judges and judicial officers were present on the occasion along with lawyers and parties to the cases brought to the Lok Adalat for settlement. Srivastava said many cases were discharged during the Lok Adalat.
He said the purpose of the Lok Adalat was to ensure speedy disposal of pending cases.
He said the DLSA was also spreading public awareness in rural areas on various social evils such as witchkilling and dowry killing.
He said the people were being informed of their legal rights and the necessity to stand up for the same.
