Jamshedpur, March 28: New facilities are being introduced for the convenience of railway employees at Tatanagar. A two-storey building is being constructed near the vacant land in front of the Tatanagar railway station at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore. A state-of-the-art guard and driver lobby is being built in this two-storey building. Employees will be able to rest here. RVNL is building the lobby. Presently the lobby at Tatanagar railway station is very small.
“A rest house will also be built here for women railway employees. An office will also be made here for area manager and train managers. There will also be arrangement for people to sit in it. Arrangements are also being made for the training of about 150 people here. With the construction of the new lobby, the driver, guard and other running staff will get freedom from the jam at the Loco Colony railway level crossing.
At present, for going to the Area Manager’s office, the running staff have to wait for the barrier to be raised. The new lobby will have parking for running staff, conference hall, train display, electronic sign in and out equipment, electronic lockers and seating arrangements for men and women. Chakradharpur Divison Men’s Congress convenor Shashi Mishra said the existing problems will be resolved once the new lobby is built. People will greatly benefit from the new lobby, he said.
