Jamshedpur: Loans worth Rs 9 lakh were distributed among eight persons belonging to the Schedule Caste category at Bistupur on Friday. B Maheshwari, ITDA director cum district executive officer of Jharkhand State Schedule Caste Cooperative Development Corporation, said a loan of Rs 50,000 was given to three women each and a loan of Rs 1 lakh was given to five men each. The loan amounts have been directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, he said.
Three beneficiaries were also granted loan for purchasing auto-rickshaws.
Maheshwari said the loans were provided to the beneficiaries with the objective to provide them financial assistance to fund their self-employment activities or enterprise. He said many such micro loan schemes have been started by the government for those belonging to Schedule Caste.
