Jamshedpur, Oct 4: Vijay Sahu, a liquor businessman, was shot dead near Namotola in Parsudih police station area of Jamshedpur. The incident occurred on the evening of the day he made multiple complaints to the Parsudih police regarding ongoing harassment and hoarding near his liquor shop. Despite visiting the police station twice that day, Sahu received no response or action from the authorities.
Witnesses reported that the assailants shot Sahu at close range in the head, leading to his immediate death. Local residents quickly transported him to Sadar Hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors.

The murder has sparked significant anger among the local community, who claim there had been escalating tensions between Sahu and local criminals for several days prior to the shooting. Residents stated that Sahu had been involved in arguments and confrontations with a group of individuals but alleged that the police failed to address the situation, ultimately leading to the tragic outcome.
According to local sources, the shooting was committed by a criminal identified as Tinku Gope, who managed to flee the scene after the attack. Police, including from both Parsudih and Sundarnagar police stations, arrived at the scene and began investigating the case.

Meanwhile, DSP (Law and Order) Md. Taukir Alam said, “We are thoroughly investigating the entire incident and working to determine the motive behind the murder.”
Rashmi Devgam, the wife of the deceased, expressed her devastation, stating, “The criminals shot at the door in front of my house, and he fell right there. This incident happened while I was returning home from the market.” The family and community members have voiced their dissatisfaction with the police’s inaction and are demanding justice for Sahu.
