Light a candle in memory of 1984 riot victims

Jamshedpur, Oct 30: Deepavali will be celebrated across India on 3rd November, people of Jamshedpur will also get along with the festivity on Sunday but the celebration should be all different for the Sikhs across the globe as on November 1, 2 and 3 thousands of innocent Sikhs were killed in several different states of the country.

We are not asking the Sikh community to stop the celebrations on November 3 but we are requesting them to light a candle in the memory of all the Sikhs who lost their lives in the 1984 massacre, said Satnam Singh Gambhir State President of All India Sikh Students Federation.

Gambhir further said that diwali is a special day in Sikhs history as on that day we celebrate Bandichod Diwas because our Sixth guru Hargovind Rai helped 52 Hindus move out of Gwalior Fort.
