LIC Jamshedpur division collects highest first premium income of Rs 421.69 cr

Jamshedpur: The 62nd insurance week celebrations organized by the Jamshedpur division of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) began at Jamshedpur branch office in Bistupur on Saturday.

The week-long celebrations were inaugurated by City SP Prabhat Kumar who was present as the chief guest in presence of senior divisional manager, Jamshedpur division, Md Mobinuddin Ansari.

He said series of events will be held from September 1-7.

While completing 62 years of existence, LIC has grown from strength to strength be its customer base, agency network, branch office network, new business premium and has a significant role in spreading life insurance widely across the country, said Md Mobinuddin Ansari.

Addressing a press conference at the Bistupur office on Saturday, Ansari informed that Jamshedpur Division, which covers 11 districts, “We have provided insurance cover to 1,97 lakh people with first premium income of Rs 421.69 crore under new business, during 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018”.

The first premium income of Rs 421.69 is highest in the history of Jamshedpur division, he said.

Ansari further said that this year we will be providing scholarships worth Rs 10 thousand to ten underprivileged students for their studies.

Earlier, the weeklong celebration kicked off on Saturday, September 1 with a mega rally taken out from the divisional office in the afternoon.

On day 2 (Sunday) a sit and draw competition will be organised for school children at the divisional office followed by rural health camp at Dandu village of Seraikela-Kharsawan.

On September 4, extempore contest will be held at divisional office. Customer meet, plantation and quiz contest will be held with closing ceremony on September 7.
