Level of education increasing but values on decline: Sitaram Shastri

Jamshedpur, July 13: On Thursday, the sixth day of the Bhagwat Katha at Bistupur Tulsi Bhawan, Katha Vachak Sitaram Shastri delivered discourses on Raas Leela, Uddhav-Gopi Samvad (dialogue) and Rukmani’s character. He emphasized that one who has a beautiful heart was truly beautiful. “The union of the soul and the divine is called Raas. This Raas Leela cannot be confined to the physical realm of union. It is a celebration of the divine union between the soul and Brahman. Our scriptures have given importance to the beauty of the heart.”

During the discourse on Shri Krishna’s teachings at Sandidhani Vidyalaya, the narrator observed, “Education bears fruit through serving the Guru. Today, the level of education is indeed increasing, but the decline in values is worrisome. The situation is such that students openly engage in vices like smoking and drinking in front of their teachers. In the name of freedom, we are becoming indulgent in the chaos of materialism. Satsang provides true insight into the human mind.”

On the seventh day of the Katha on Friday, Maharaj will narrate the story of Sudama and Shri Krishna’s journey to Swadham. After the discourse, Havan and Purnahuti will be performed. On Ekadashi day, the Katha Vachak Sitaram Shastri, National President of Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan (ABMMS) Neera Baithwal and National Secretary Rupa Agarwal performed a cow donation ceremony. Under the healthcare service, more than 200 people had free blood and sugar tests done.

 During the Bhagwat Katha organized by the Jharkhand Prantiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan (JPMMS) and Marwari Mahila Manch (MMM) Jamshedpur on Thursday evening, the wedding of two girls from Chakradharpur was solemnized with Lakshmi being married to Gopal Laguri and Sodara to Misir Gope. Katha Vachak Sitaram Shastri blessed both couples and honored them with necessary gifts and monetary support.

The Yajmans (Hosts) on Thursday were Arun Bankrewal, Niranjan Moonka, Saroj Bhalotia, Rani Agarwal, Lalita Saraiwala, Narayani Mittal and Saroj Chetani. On Thursday, during the Rukmani Vivah and the auspicious occasion of Ekadashi organized by the ABMMS National President Neera Bathwal from Ranchi, National Secretary Rupa Agarwal, Former Regional President Renu Dudani from Dhanbad, Social Worker Prabhakar Agarwal along with members from Chaibasa, Jadugora and Dhanbad branches were also present.
