Saraikela, Jan 29: A camp on legal awareness-cum-empowerment was organized at the Kuchai Block office on Friday and beneficiaries of various government schemes were handed their sanction papers. Saraikela SDO Ramkrishna Kumar, DLSA Secretary Kuldip Mann and sarikela BDO Mrityunjay Kumar were present in the meeting.
DLSA Secretary Kuldip Mann stated on the occasion that the administrations as also the legal administration were trying to reach out necessary information to each and every person so that benefits did not elude them. “Both administrations are going out in the midst of people and listening to their problems and providing solutions. Officials are providing need based help to people under the various government schemes. It is important for you to be aware of your legal rights and access to the government schemes launched for your individual and community benefits because awareness alone strengthens you physically and mentally. If you are aware of all these necessary information, you can directly place your cause and you will be heard. You will get all legal assistance.”

SDO Ramkrishna Kumar devolved into various social aspects. He observed, “The mental and physical violence against women, branding elderly women as witches and torturing them, trafficking in women and several other ills are prevalent because of a lack of awareness and knowledge. It is extremely necessary to eradicate these social ills and give the positions of respect and equality to ladies so that they can live respectable and happy lives. They can bring up their children in a proper manner.”
Talking on wiping out addiction of all types and manners, Ramkrishna Kumar said that liquor addiction destroyed homes and communities as it shook the edifice of social fabric. “members of Sakhi Mandalis have to come forward and continue with their drive against addiction at village and Block levels. People should come forward for their rights. The real transformation of community begins at home. in matters related to domestic violence and misunderstandings between husband and wife can be cleared and we have planned mediation centres where these things can be cleared. If people do not have the financial means to go to court there are provisions by way of free legal assistance. Awareness is the biggest strength.”
Beneficiaries of various government schemes were provided sanctions during the camp session. Eleven beneficiaries were provided treatment grants, keys of houses under PMAY were handed to five beneficiaries, six received benefits of Sukanya Yojna and Didi Bari Yojna beneficiaries got sanctions for seeds. Other sanctions that were given to beneficiaries included pension certificates, Annaprashan and other schematic benefits.
