Jamshedpur, May 27: A thought-provoking lecture on “Neo-Geopolitics and the Weeping Mother Earth” was organized today under the aegis of the Centre for Academic Development (CAD) at Karim City College. The session featured Dr. Ale Ali, Head of the Geography Department, as the keynote speaker.
The event commenced with a welcome note and thematic introduction by CAD Convener Dr. Sandhya Sinha. She highlighted the urgency of discussing new geopolitical trends amid shifting global power dynamics, regional conflicts and rising uncertainties following events such as the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the U.S.–China tensions post-COVID-19. She also referenced incidents like Pahalgam, which underscore the relevance of the topic.
Dr. Ale Ali elaborated on the complexities of “Neo-Geopolitics,” explaining how emerging global powers and ongoing geopolitical risks are reshaping international relations. He analysed the evolving role of countries like India in this uncertain landscape and outlined key future geopolitical players.
An engaging Q&A session followed, where faculty members including Prof. Mohammad Nazri, Prof. Aman, Prof. Zaki, Prof. Ejaz and Prof. Kausar raised pertinent questions. Dr. Ali addressed them comprehensively, shedding light on current geopolitical shifts.
Principal Dr. Mohammad Reyaz, in his concluding remarks, praised the initiative, asserting that India has adapted a flexible and dynamic foreign policy, establishing itself as a global partner. He shared relevant examples and encouraged continued dialogue on such critical global matters. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Farzana Anjum from the Geography Department.
