Jamshedpur, Aug 8: Leaders across all party lines today paid tributes to Shahid Nirmal Mahto on the occasion of his 32nd martyrdom day. Nirmal Mahto was the one man who took up the fight for a separate Jharkhand state.

His call heralded a new wave among the tribal community and the impact was such that the powers that be were forced to take notice. Though he did not live to see it, his dream and the aspirations of many was transformed into a reality as the state of Jharkhand was created on November 15, 2000.

Party leaders and citizens from all walks of life started pouring in at Ulliyan in Kadma to offer floral tributes. Apart from big and not-so-big leaders of JMM, there were ones from BJP, AJSU Party, JDU and Congress.

Leaders also visited Chamaria Guest House to garland the statue of Shahid Nirmal Mahto. The occasion which commenced early in the morning continued till late evening.

Among those leaders who paid floral tributes to the memory of Shahid Nirmal Mahto on his 32nd death anniversary were Jamshedpur MP Bidhyut Baran Mahato, Minister Ram Chandra Sahis, MLA Sadhu Charan Mahato, Dulal Bhuinya, Banna Gupta, Astik Mahto, Champai Soren, Savita Mahto, Mohan Karmakar, Laxman Tudu, Rakesh Sahu, Punita Chowdhary, Sitaram Chowdhary, Dipak Gupta, AJSU Party leaders Chandragupt Singh, Kanhaiya Singh, Sanjay Singh, Appu Tiwary and others.
