LD 2 SC wins Inter JDC Cricket Tournament

Jamshedpur: Team LD 2 SC defeated LD 3 TSCR by five wickets in the final to win the Inter JDC Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament played at Armoury Ground from 16th to 28th January. Organised by the sports department, Tata Steel, the tournament saw participation of 35 JDC�s Units of Tata Steel.

Entire matches was played of 10 over’s each side and played on Knock out basis. Final was played on 28th Jan 2018 at 9.45 AM.

Daily 3 matches were played. Batting first after winning the toss, LD 3 TSCR scored 53 runs all out in 9.4 overs.

Tapan was the top scorer with 25 runs and Amit scored 8 runs.

From LD 2 SC AK Singh took 6 wickets for 7 runs in 2 overs including Hat trick. Vijay and Indraveer took a wicket each for 14 and 2 runs.

In reply LD 2 SC scored 58 for the loss of 5 wickets in 8.2 Overs. Rajeev Behera scored 34 not out (6×2, 2×4) and Amit Jena scored 10 runs to help their side clinch the trophy.

From LD 3 TSCR Siva took 2 wickets for 6 runs. Saroj took 1 wicket for 10 runs.
A K Singh of LD 2 SC was awarded as Man of the Final.

Chief Guest Ravi Radhakrishnan, Chief (Aviation Services & Sports), Tata Steel distributed the prizes.

Avinash Kumar welcomed the guests and Satish Singh conducted the prize distribution function. On the occasion Executives, UCM members and many employees were present.
Arif Hussain, Kumar Neeraj, Tapan and Amitesh Mishra, Sr. Trainees of Tata Steel Cricket Training Center officiated all the matches of the tournament.
