Last-minute glitches plague JEE Main January session registration

Ranchi: As the deadline for JEE Main January session registration approaches on November 30, numerous students are encountering difficulties in completing their applications. Applicants have reported issues such as incomplete applications despite successful OTP verification and payment deductions. The National Testing Agency’s (NTA) helpline has been flooded with complaints from frustrated students facing challenges during the crucial registration process.

Several students have expressed concerns about not receiving OTPs during the registration, while others have faced problems where payments are deducted, but the application process remains unfinished, displaying a failed payment status. These technical glitches have added to the stress of students already dealing with the pressure of the impending deadline.

In response to these concerns, NTA officials have assured students that payments are being adjusted within 24 hours. Controller of Examinations, Sadhna Parashar, stated that the application process is still ongoing, with approximately nine lakh applications received so far. Bihar alone has contributed around 47 thousand applications, and this number is expected to rise as the deadline approaches.

To facilitate the registration process, NTA has provided various options, including the use of Aadhaar Enrollment Number, PAN, Passport Number, or ABC ID (Academic Bank of Credit ID). The JEE Main January session exams are scheduled to take place from January 24 to February 1, 2024, with admit cards set to be issued three days before the examination. The results are expected to be released on February 12, 2024.
