Labourer suffers injury during work in Jamshedpur’s Highco Company

Jamshedpur, Mar 15: Suleman Lakra, a member of the Jharkhand Majdoor Union suffered loss of a finger in each of his hand while working at a Highco Company in Adityapur Industrial Area on Monday. 
Secretary of Jharkhand Majdoor Union, Rajesh Samant informed that a delegation of Jharkhand Majdur Union had visited the hospital to get information about health condition of the worker and came to know that the contractor had not given them benefit of ESI nor any PF facilities has been provided and just for formality the injured worker had been admitted at a nursing home in Adityapur instead of letting him for treatment in a superspecialty hospital. ‘
Rajesh Samant informed that talks have been held with the private contractor to ensure that compensation is paid to the worker along with better treatment facilities. The contractors have given positive assurance.
