Gamharia, March 13: A laborer was seriously injured due to the blast in furnace number one of SMS department of Amalgam Steel and Power Plant Company located in Kandra in Seraikela Kharsawan district on Sunday.
The injured worker is being treated by the management. The incident took place at around 2 pm on Sunday, and an atmosphere of chaos prevailed in the company premises and the employees on duty started running here and there. However, being a Sunday, there were not many workers in the company.
According to the information received, the workers were aware of the blast of the furnace. Till the time the company management and the workers took the initiative in this direction, the furnace exploded with a loud bang. In this sequence, a laborer was injured whose condition is said to be out of danger. The company management refused to divulge anything in this regard.
