Jamshedpur, Dec 27: The biting cold suddenly seemed to be replaced by political warmth as Jamshedpur parliamentarian Bidyut Baran Mahto’s son Kunal Mahto took out a huge bike rally with BJP supporters. It seemed as though a leader was going with his supporters to file his nomination form. The place was Chakulia.
Kunal mahto made his first visit to Chakulia on Sunday. The parliamentarian’s supporters organized several functions on the occasion. Many party supporters embarked on a bike rally with Kunal Mahto riding pillion leading the sloganeering party workers on their motorcycles. They reached Mem Club Chowk in Bhalukbinda. Party officials and workers garlanded Kunal Mahto there. the rally reached Birsa Chowk where a large crowd greeted him. Slogans in favour of Bidyut Baran Mahto and son Kunal Mahto were rent the air. Amidst the slogans, Kunal garlanded the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
BJP youth members were exuberant with Kunal’s presence in their midst. From Birsa Chowk, the bike rallyists rode to Sishakhun and from there to Kuchiasholi where the rally culminated. Kunal offered prayers at the Naga Baba Mandir on the return journey. He also inaugurated the ongoing cricket tournament’s final match being played at the KNJ High School ground.
Later at Mundhathakra village, the junior Mahto distributed blankets among the poor denizens. He observed on the occasion, “Baharagora-Chakulia has been my father’s (Bidyut Baran Mahto’s) grounds of activity. I too have close affinity with the people here. Like my father, I too wish to work among the poor and needy people and alleviate their pains.”
The members who participated in the bike rally included Sushil Sharma, Partho Mahto, Chandan Mahto, Jagannath Mahto, Gaurav Pushti, Hira Mahto, Rajesh Singh, Satya Singh, Jayant Mahto, Trilochan Rana, Vriti Sunder Mahto, Latif Ansari, Suresh Singh and many other BJP workers.
