Kumkum Puja marks second day of Balaji Temple Brahmotsavam

Jamshedpur: The second day of the Brahmotsavam celebrations at the Karwariya Dham Balaji Temple in Siddhgora witnessed a series of religious rituals and devotional activities on Friday. The day began with the Suprabhat Seva for Lord Balaji at 7 am, followed by the Sudarshan Homam at 10 am.
During the ritual fire ceremony, priests offered ghee, Navadhanya (nine types of grains), wheat, aromatic spices, puffed rice, whole green gram, Durva grass, dry fruits and coconuts into the sacred fire while chanting Vedic mantras. Devotees gathered in large numbers to witness the rituals and seek blessings.
In the evening, a Kumkum Puja was organized at 4 pm, in which around 200 married women participated. The puja was conducted near the idol of Lord Balaji by temple priests following traditional Vedic rituals and Telugu customs. After the ceremony, the women exchanged kumkum and turmeric with each other as part of the ritual.
The organizing committee also distributed gifts including turmeric, kumkum, betel nuts, sandalwood paste, betel leaves, flowers and blouse pieces to the participants.
Members including Kamala Sharma, R.S.N. Raju, R. Prabhakar Rao, Mukund Rao, Ravi Kiran, Ravi Ramachandran, Narsingh Rao and others contributed to the successful organization of the event.
