Jamshedpur, Mar 16: In Jamshedpur, Kudmi organizations have raised their voices against the dissemination of misleading and unconstitutional propaganda targeting MP Bidyut Baran Mahato on social media, allegedly in the name of the Kudmi caste. Demanding swift legal action, members of various organizations united under the banner of the Kudmi Development Committee submitted a memorandum to the Senior Superintendent of Police of the district. A copy of the memorandum was also provided to the cyber police station.
Expressing their grievances, the committee’s representatives, Vinay Mahato and advocate Manik Chandra Mahato, highlighted instances of misleading and anti-social news circulated on the Facebook page ‘Jamshedpur Steel City’ under the guise of representing the Kudmi community. In response, a collective decision was made to protest against such actions. The memorandum urged the district administration to investigate the operator of the Facebook page and take appropriate legal measures.
The protest gathering, held in front of Keenan Stadium, witnessed the participation of numerous Kudmi organizations and community members. Alongside Vinay Mahato, individuals such as Sudarshan Prasad, Lal Dev Mahato, Biren Mahato, Narayan Mahato, and Manik Chandra Mahato voiced their concerns and submitted the memorandum. Over 100 members from various organizations, including Ankit Mahato, Rahul Kumar Mahato, Nepal Mahato, Khagen Mahato, Ratan Mahato, Shankar Mahato, Arun Kumar Mahato, Vasudev Mahato, Sunil Kumar Mahato, Uttam Kumar Mahato, Manoranjan Mahato, and Hiralal Mahato, were present, underscoring the collective resolve to address the issue.
The committee emphasized that failure to take appropriate action would compel the Kudmi community to escalate their protest activities, signaling their determination to safeguard their rights and dignity.
