KSMS wins Prof. P. Ramachandra Rao Science Quiz 2014

Jamshedpur : To honor his pioneering contributions in popularizing science in India, it is for the 5th consecutive year, CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory; Jamshedpur organized a Inter School SCIENCE QUIZ 2014 in the fond memory of its former Director, (Late) Prof. P. Ramachandra Rao today.

Quiz Master, Mr. V. Ramanan from Chennai, conducted the Science Quiz. 48 Schools comprising of 87 teams across the state of Jharkhand, Orissa, and West Bengal participated in the programme.

The preliminary written round was held at 9.45 AM. Six teams, namely (i) Kerala Samajam Model School, Sakchi, (ii) Loyola School (Team A & B) (iv) RajendraVidyalaya, Jamshedpur (v) Sacred Heart Convent high School, Sakchi Jamshedpur, and (vi) D.A.V Public School, Bhubaneswar qualified for the final round. VidyaBharatiChinmaya, Jamshedpur finished as the 7th rank holder among the 48 participating Schools.

The Final Round of the Quiz was held at 14.30 hrs in the NML Auditorium. Kerala Samajam Model School, Sakchi, Jamshedpur represented by ShadanKalam, ShubamBarua and Adnan Azmat, was the WINNER scoring 285 points whereas Loyola School, Jamshedpur represented by Vijeeth Srinivas, Abhishek Kumar Patra and PraneetShekhar became the RUNNER-UP scoring 218 points.

CSIR-NML Director Dr. S. Srikanth gave away the prizes. Rs. 15,000/- and a trophy was shared by the winners and Rs. 9,000/- and a trophy given to the runners-up.
