KSMS Jamshedpur failed students to appear for retest

Jamshedpur, March 23: Students of Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) in Golmuri, who have failed in class 9 and class 11 examinations, will have the opportunity to retake exams to get promoted to class 10 and class 12. This decision followed discussions between the school management and parents, mediated by SDO Dhalbhum Parul Singh. After a three-day period, the Principal, Nandini Shukla, will convene all concerned parties to determine the timing of the retests, which will be conducted within a month. Students would be provided at least 15 days to prepare for the tests. Only those who pass the retest will proceed to the next class, in accordance with school and board guidelines. The initiative came after protests from parents and students, with SDO Parul Singh facilitating dialogue to resolve the issue. A school teacher emphasized that promotion would be contingent upon passing the retest, with the Principal responsible for setting the date. Students and parents will be notified accordingly.

SDO facilitates resolution for students’ retests at KSMS

SDO Parul Singh mediated in the talks between the management of Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) Golmuri, parents, and district officials on Saturday. Parents advocated for a chance for class 9 and 11 students to undertake retests, aiming to secure their children’s future from uncertainty—a request promptly accepted by KSMS management.

The school scheduled a meeting for the concerned students on Thursday at 8 am, where study details and retest arrangements would be provided. Additional classes have been assured for disadvantaged students. SDO Singh motivated the students to excel in their studies.

Bablu Jha, representing the parents, expressed thanks to SDO Parul Singh, KSMS Management Chairman KPG Nair, and Principal Nandini Shukla. Dharmendra Sonkar, Executive District President of East Singhbhum District Congress Committee, also played a pivotal role in the resolution.
