Jamshedpur, July 20: Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) is hosting Judi H Freeman and Kimberely Gilman from USA on their visit to India from July 18 – 22.
They are a part of the Global Classroom, an international partnership of schools.
Their objective for participating in the Teachers of Global Classroom program is to go beyond the largely Eurocentric focus of their students’ educational background and to help children delve more deeply into global issues, establish international partnerships and take advantage of a network of like-minded educators engaged in global issues.
At KSMS they interacted with the principal, administrators, staff and students. They conducted sessions on class activities at Primary level, classes for teachers who teach Social Studies.
They also shared material on “Creating Supportive Learning Environment for Boys and Girls- a guide for educators and resources from the U.S. Embassy”.
On July 20, they will interact with the members of the school cabinet and moderators of various clubs (Safe, Interact, Jyoti, Eco-Club and Care & Share Club).
By hosting the teachers, KSMS aims to create opportunities for the students and teachers to gain international experience and integrate it into their curriculum.
