Krishna Kharia takes over as President of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Steel City

Jamshedpur, July 23: The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Steel City celebrated its 31st Foundation Day with grandeur, marking the beginning of a new leadership term for 2025–26. Krishna Kumar Kharia took over as the new President, while Jitesh Kumar Choudhary assumed charge as Secretary during the formal installation ceremony.

City Superintendent of Police (SP) Kumar Shivashish (IPS) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and Abhijeet A. Nanoti, Managing Director of JCAPCPL, attended as Guest of Honour. Outgoing President Shivani Goyal and Outgoing Secretary Priyanka Singh were also present on the dais and formally handed over their responsibilities to the new executive team. Former District Governor (PDG) Pratim Banerjee honored the newly inducted board members with Rotary pins.

During the ceremony, the Chief Guest officially unveiled the club’s new Members’ Directory and official T-shirt. He lauded the club’s impactful service initiatives over the past year and expressed confidence in the new leadership. Referring to Rotary International’s new global theme, ‘Unite for Good’, SP Shivashish encouraged members to lead with empathy and collaborative spirit.

PDG Pratim Banerjee served as the Installing Officer, while Regional Director Sharat Chandra inducted new members Shalu Khaitan and Anchal Kharia into the club.

Several dignitaries, including PDG R. Bharat, Dr. Vijaya Bharat, AG Rotarian Kusum Thakur, Rotarian D.N. Jena, and office bearers from other Rotary clubs, also attended the event. The event was marked by warmth, celebration, and a strong commitment to service.

President Krishna Kumar Kharia, in his address, thanked the club for their trust and support, promising to work diligently towards fulfilling both global and district-level goals.
