Jamshedpur, August 4: Kerala Public School, Mango, hosted the 5th CISCE Regional Boxing Championship, bringing together 60 young boxers from the Jamshedpur and Ranchi Zones. The event was a display of strength, discipline, and sportsmanship, as students from CISCE-affiliated schools competed across various age and weight categories with energy and determination.
The boxers showcased not only their athletic skills but also the values of perseverance and fair play. The competition concluded with an impressive medal tally, reflecting the growing talent in school-level boxing.
Medal Tally by Category:
Under-19 Category: Girls: 7 Gold, Boys: 8 Gold.
Under-17 Category: Girls: 8 Gold, 2 Silver, Boys: 10 Gold, 2 Silver.
Under-14 Category: Girls: 8 Gold, 2 Silver, Boys: 10 Gold, 2 Silver.
The championship was graced by Mukhtar Alam, member of the Managing Committee, as the Guest of Honour. In his address, he lauded the young athletes for their dedication and praised the organizers and coaches for nurturing the sport at the school level.
Rupa Ghosh, Principal of Kerala Public School, Mango, expressed her pride and gratitude while observing,
“It was an honour for Kerala Public School, Mango to host this regional championship. The discipline and grit displayed by these young athletes were truly commendable. We congratulate all winners and participants who made this event a resounding success.”
Beyond competition, the championship reinforced CISCE’s commitment to holistic education, integrating physical development and sports excellence into the academic framework.
