KPS Kadma hosts ‘WHY VIDEOS’ award ceremony, Saikat crowned winner

Jamshedpur, Aug 13: Kerala Public School Kadma engendered euphoria across all its faculty and students as they celebrated curiosity at the “WHY VIDEOS” Award Ceremony.

Chief Guest for the occasion was former MLA Kunal Sarangi.

WHY VIDEOS had its genesis in the pandemic when the school Director Sharat Chandran identified certain inefficiencies in delivering content through online modules to students.

Hence, he challenged the teachers to start creating videos that make the students question why a certain concept is the way it is, as the name “Why Videos” suggests.

This effort to remotely stimulate curiosity amongst students soon became a practice brought to the physical classroom as soon as it was transitioned to in-person learning.

This tradition generated a healthy competition to create the most out-of-the-box Why Video amongst the teachers.

The competition was amongst the teachers of Kerala Public School Kadma, Mango and Gamharia.

The total entries were 485. The entries were judged by the eminent personality of the town Anamika.

KPS Kadma Principal Sharmila Mukherjee said that this event would not have been possible without the open-minded participation of faculty from across 

KPS schools. Our collective action facilitates holistic learning amongst today’s youth.

Academic Director Laxmi Sharat aptly described the model as unconventional and the instrumental role it has played in these equally unconventional and uncalled for times.

Winner of the event was Saikat Rahut of Kerala Public School Kadma.

Abhishek Sinha of Kerala Public School Kadma was declared the first runner-up.

Second runners up award was jointly bagged by Saikat Rahut, Kerala Public School Kadma, Bijaya Laxmi Tripathy of Kerala Public School Mango, Vibha Vikas of Kerala Public School Gamharia and Kumari Pushpa of Kerala Public School Gamharia.

Third runners up were Kuheli Bose of Kerala Public School Gamharia and Amit Sharma of Kerala Public School Kadma.

Chief Guest congratulated the much-deserving winners and appreciated them for their role as nation builders. He also encouraged the concept of “WHY VIDEO” and looks forward to seeing the heights this innovation reaches.
