KPS Kadma: Blood donation drive in memory of APR Nair collects 153 units

Jamshedpur, Sep 9: Kerala Public School, Kadma organized annual blood donation camp in memory of Founder Chairman Late APR Nair, to commemorate his sixth death anniversary on Friday, September 9.

Late APR Nair, the noted Educationist from Jamshedpur who came from a humble background rose to great heights with his dedication and hardwork. He was responsible to spread the light of education in and around Jamshedpur.

Late APR Nair known as the ‘Saksharta Man of Jamshedpur’ played a pivotal role in making English Medium education affordable to all segments of the society.

The programme started with the auspicious lighting of the lamp followed by a soulful bhajan performed by the school’s choir.

Satnam Kapula, President of the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Founder Principal, Shanta Vaidyanathan, Director Kerala Public Schools, Sharat Chandran, Academic Director, Lakshmi Sharat, Principal Kerala Public School, Kadma , Sharmila Mukherjee, Headmistress Kerala Public School, Kadma, Alamelu Ravishankar and Mangi Lal Chawla the Secretary of Rotary club of Jamshedpur , graced the occasion.

Amit Khandelwal – a potential youth leader, ex- President of Marwadi Yuva Manch, exCaptain of the Indian Karate team and a keen philanthropist was the Guest of Honor for the day.

Principal of the School Sharmila Mukherjee , in her welcome address , highlighted upon the significance of blood donation and stated that this noble deed is still shrouded in doubt and that efforts should be made to dispel the myths associated with blood donation .

She said that this will provide an opportunity to many to make a selfless contribution to the benefit of society. The people of the community came in large numbers to donate blood. Without their unparalleled contribution, this event would not have been possible. Kerala Public School, Kadma successfully collected 153 units of blood at the end of the day.
