Kolhan will lead the charge for change in Jharkhand: Pratul Shahdeo

Seraikela, Nov 11: BJP’s state spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo, during a press conference in Seraikela, launched a strong critique of the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government, claiming that Kolhan would play a pivotal role in the upcoming election results. Shahdev asserted that Kolhan would lead the charge for a change in Jharkhand, with BJP sweeping the region in the first phase of the elections. He emphasized that the people of Kolhan would seek to take “revenge” for the “insult” inflicted on their leader, Champai Soren, by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).

Shahdeo, addressing the media at the BJP election office on Jail Road, accused the Hemant government of rampant corruption, citing allegations of scams involving mining, coal, stone, transfer postings, and land, totaling a record Rs 70,000 crore. He also referred to the controversial “age scam” involving Chief Minister Hemant Soren, where his age was reported to have increased by seven years in just five years, according to an affidavit submitted to the Election Commission.

The BJP spokesperson also highlighted the rise in women’s harassment under the current government, citing a staggering 7,400 rape cases reported. Shahdeo stressed that women no longer feel safe in Jharkhand under Hemant Soren’s leadership.

Turning to BJP’s vision, Shahdeo promised that if the party comes to power, it would deposit Rs 2,100 every month into the bank accounts of women, provide 2,87,000 government jobs to the youth, and create five lakh self-employment opportunities. Additionally, 21 lakh Prime Minister’s houses would be constructed, and free sand would be provided to the poor. He also assured the regularization of 65,000 para-teachers, assistant policemen, and contract workers, alongside a return of funds to Sahara investors.

On the issue of Champai Soren, Shahdeo accused Chief Minister Hemant Soren of unjustly removing the former from power and disrespecting his contributions. He claimed that Champai Soren was sidelined because he was not a member of the Soren family and had curbed corruption during his tenure.

The press conference saw the presence of several prominent BJP leaders, including District President Uday Singhdev, Sanand Acharya, Rakesh Mishra, Ritika Mukhi, Kavita Das, Pankaj Kumar, Lipu Mahanthy, Badrinarayan Darogha, and Rajkumar Singh.
