Jamshedpur, June 7: The online admission for under graduate programmes in Kolhan University colleges has received positive feedback.
Several students succeeded to apply for the online registration. About 1000 students registered and applied for admissions on the first day. However, some students were confused about the challan generation and deposit process which is now being done offline.
Officials of NCCF (National Co-operative Consumers’ federation of India Ltd), that developed the online admission system for Kolhan University said that they will soon introduce the online payment system.
“It was great experience to apply online. I filled my choice for three colleges– Karim City College, Jamshedpur Worker’s College and Jamshedpur Co-operative College for English hons” said an applicant for under graduation in Kolhan University.
Last year the varsity digitised the admission process of PG and B.Ed.Jharkhand governor Droupadi Murmu fulfilled the formalities of clicking the university website http://www.kolhanuniversity.ac.in and the URL https://www.kolhan.in/Appon/index.action at a function at Raj Bhawan in Ranchi. Students can now look forward to apply for all the 35 constituent and affiliated colleges.
R.P.P. Singh, vice-chancellor, Kolhan University said that the initiative has been taken to provide better facilities to the students. The process saves time and is hassle free too. We had planned this for a long time but we could only do it for PG and B.Ed last year. This is an important achievement for us.
Students after creating a log in id and password need to fill their personal details followed by course choices and subjects. They then choose their preferred colleges. When they submit, the system generates different challans (as per the college’s bank).
As the system is offline now, students will have to download it, take a printout of the same and will have to go to the respective banks to submit their form fill up fees which is Rs 100 per college.
“We working on the process to make the online payment method and will upload it within a week. Students can then use their debit and credit card to make the payment like they do for online purchases,” said an official of NCCF, Ranchi.
Vice chancellor of Kolhan University said that the process has started on positive note . it has started well and hopes that more students will register after the installation of the online payment system.
