Kolhan University meet decides to increase teaching staff

Chaibasa : Vice-Chancellor of Kolhan University RPP Singh chaired the 33rd meeting of Abhishad at university conference hall on Saturday.

The meeting took a number of decisions in the light of the previous samity meeting held on January 28 and February 11, when it was decided to create teaching posts on the basis of student ratio. Now the proposal will be sent to the state government.

At the same time, Saturday�s meeting approved the recommendations of the March 10 meeting made by Viduvat Parishad. The meeting also decided that the entrance examination of PhD will be held on May 15. The examinees, except those in the graduation-level, can write their papers in Bangla, Odiya and Urdu.

The meeting also directed the principals and acting principal of affiliated colleges to provide the approved syllabus to the students. Besides MCA, hotel management and catering technology courses, the university will soon start the courses in fine arts and MBA.

In addition, the meeting decided to enhance the monthly pay of the Category III contractual staff of the university to Rs. 7000, while IV grade category would be paid Rs. 5000. A sum of Rs. 266 crore was sanctioned for the financial year 2016-17.

MLA Ram Chandra Sahis ensured that a 42-seated bus would run between Jamshedpur and Chaibasa for the university.

The meeting was attended by Rabindra Singh, Dr JP Mishra, Dr Purnima Kumar, Dr Sailbala Das, state government representative Rajesh Kumar Shukla, Governor�s representative Dr SS Razi, Dr Debakr Minj, finance officer Sudhanshu Kumar, Dr PK Pani, Dr MA Khan, and assistant vice-chancellor M K Mishra.
