Jamsedpur, Aug 3:  The Chancellor cum Governor of Kolhan University has mandated a comprehensive review of teacher qualifications in private B.Ed colleges to enhance educational standards. This follows concerns over the qualifications of assistant professors and vocational teachers in affiliated colleges, now extending scrutiny to private B.Ed institutions.

A letter from the Chancellor directs Kolhan University to gather updated information on qualified, approved, and working teachers in all B.Ed colleges and to promptly remove unqualified teachers. The directive aims to examine the qualifications of private B.Ed college teachers, addressing issues previously highlighted in university investigations.

Identifying and removing incompetent teachers is expected to bring significant improvements to the education sector. Negligent colleges may face strict action under the rules. Investigations revealed that many private B.Ed colleges employed underqualified teachers to minimize salary expenses. Kolhan University confirmed these findings, prompting a directive for colleges to rectify the situation.

The Chancellor’s order has now accelerated efforts to scrutinize teacher qualifications. Post-investigation, appropriate actions will be taken against unqualified teachers in accordance with university regulations.
