Kolhan Police on high alert ahead of Naxalite bandh

Naxal and criminal activities will not be tolerated: DIG Kispotta

Jamshedpur, July 30: Security has been intensified across Kolhan division in anticipation of the Jharkhand bandh called by Naxalite outfits on August 3. An alert has been issued by the state police headquarters to all police stations, instructing officers to remain vigilant, conduct continuous patrolling, and monitor suspicious activities to prevent any untoward incident.

Kolhan DIG Anuranjan Kispotta visited Jamshedpur on Wednesday and chaired a review meeting with senior district police officers at the SSP’s office. The meeting was attended by SSP Piyush Pandey, City SP, Rural SP, DSP-rank officials, and all police station in-charges.

DIG Kispotta highlighted that West Singhbhum remained a Naxal-affected region and emphasized that on-going special operation must continue without interruption. He directed officers to expedite the investigation and closure of criminal cases pending for over five years. “There are around 70 such cases in which no arrest has been made so far. The accused must be arrested and sent to jail at the earliest,” he stated.

The DIG also instructed the police force to review cases pending for over two years and prepare a list of absconding accused. He ordered the formation of special teams to trace and apprehend them. “Under no circumstances will Naxalite or criminal activities be allowed to flourish,” he asserted.

To ensure maximum security during the bandh, intensive search operations and patrols have been launched in sensitive and Naxal-prone areas. The Kolhan police remain fully alert and committed to maintaining law and order in the region during this critical period.
