Seraikela, Mar 10: Kolhan DIG Rajiv Ranjan Singh held a review meeting with district police, CRPF, Cobra Battalion officials on curbing crime and Maoist activities in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
The blocks of Kuchai, Seraikela, Kharsawan, Chandil, Chowka, Ichagarh and Nimdih are known as rebel hit areas in the district. Directive was issued to be specially alert on bordering areas with Bengal in view of the ensuing assembly polls and carry out intensive combing operation against Maoist forces.
The DIG after the meeting claimed that Maoist forces would be controlled at any cost and forces have been given special training to counter rebel activities. Those officers who have performed well in counter insurgency operations will be felicitated to keep their morale up. He also advised the police forces to spread information about surrender policies of the government and directed to identify those forces who are funding Maoists from urban areas.
