Chaibasa, Aug. 16: West Singhbhum district administration celebrated the 71st Independence Day with fervor at Police Line ground on August 15.
The Commissioner of Kolhan hoisted the national flag. Earlier, he inspected guard of honour and was accompanied by DIG Saket Kumar and SP Anish Gupta in a decorated vehicle.
Later, addressing the gathering, Commissioner said, the Independence was not achieved over night but it was achieved only after long struggle and sacrifices.
People of this country have made supreme sacrifice for the freedom of India. As a result of scarifies we are enjoying the liberty under an open sky.
Commissioner also highlighted the yearly achievement of the West Singhbhum district which included 132.2 km Pradhanmantri Sadak Yojna and 15 over bridges, 27100 beneficiary of Ujjwala scheme, 10000 ration cards were found fake, 236 cows were given to the females , Chief Minster Kanya Dan scheme benefited 217, chief minister Laxmi Ladli scheme benefited 350 while 4369 disable were benefited from Swami Vivekananda disable Scheme.
41,208 students benefited from scholarship and three blocks were declared ODF Chaibasa, Tannagar, Kumardungi.
He further said that 100 dial was started for the public security by police administration and two new police station Mahila police station Chaibasa and ST police station Chaibasa besides the construction of Jetia police station.
