Kin of suspended students ransack Jamshedpur School

Jamshedpur, August 1: A group of relatives of few suspended students of Vivekanand International School, Old Purulia Road, under Azadnagar PS, allegedly assaulted the teachers of the said school on Monday.

Sources said the accused persons, relatives of two class IX students, barged into the school and beat up the teachers, identified as Abhijit Sarkar, Durga Das and Devshri Indu. The accused persons entered the classrooms and assaulted the teachers. They also hurled abuses on the teachers and terrorized all students and school staff, sources said.

Sources said the accused persons were irked by the suspension of two students who had allegedly misbehaved with other students. During a probe, the school authorities had found the two students guilty of misconduct and decided to suspend them. This led their relatives to assault and threaten the teachers, sources said.

The school Principal Dr Nidhi Srivastava informed police about the incident and sought protection for all teachers and arrest of accused persons.
