Kidnap and rape victim identifies four accused in TI parade

Jamshedpur, Sept 7: Four accused in the kidnapping and rape of a minor girl from Jugsalai at Dobo on the night of August 28 last were identified by the victim and her friend during a TI parade today. The four accused identified by the victim were Parsuram Mahali, Gunadhar Mahali, Ramesh Kumar and Virendra Mahali alias Fuchu. The TI parade took place in the presence of a magistrate.

The incident pertains to the night of August 28 last when the minor girl, a resident of Jugsalai accompanied her friend in his Fortuner car for a ride beyond the new road bridge over the Rivers� Meet when the car developed some technical trouble. They stopped the car on the roadside. It was then that the 12 accused pulled the girl away to a nearby jungle and molested and raped her. The incident occurred at a place a little further from the bridge in Dobo which is under the Kapali police outpost in Saraikela-Kharsawan district.

The 12 accused were rounded up by the police on September 3 and sent them the Saraikela Jail. The arrested include Kapali police OP area resident Pintu Singh, Purisili village resident Ramesh Kumar, Sadhu alias Brindavan Kumar, Virendra Mahali alias Fuchi, Mahadev Kumhar, Rajesh Singh, Suken Singh Sardar, Maheshwar Singh Sardar, Badrinath Singh Sardar, Sanyasi Das, Parsuram Mahali and Gunadhar Mahali.
