Khatiks demand certificates

Jamshedpur: A delegation comprising members of the Khatik community met the deputy commissioner of EastSinghbhum on Monday and demanded that the district administration issue certificates of caste to the community members as they were facing immense problems.

They said they were facing problems in getting employment. Chief Secretary stresses on long- term development plan get in plantation, the problem of unemployment can be eradicated in the rural areas.

He suggested that a quantum jump in tasar production, rubber plantation and mulberry promotion will contribute to economic growth.

Special Secretary, Industry, Dhirendra Kumar elaborated the post cocoon activity. He said 127 centres have been established for production of thread all over the State.

Chief Secretary said to introduce a PPP mode in the field of sericulture to scaleup its production thereby developing the infrastructure.

A vision of sericulture must be defined and documented to scale-up opportunities in this field. He directed to make a project report signifying the benefits and financial requirements associated with it.

He also laid stress on defining the export potentiality of numerous items produced in the State. The Chief Secretary directed to redefine the construction of superspecialty hospital on PPP mode with explicit reimbursement facility to BPL. Secretary, Industry Department, Vandana Dadel and Director of Industries, Himani Pande were also present during
the meeting.
