Khalistani terrorist Pannun issues threatens to attack Bhubaneswar Airport

Bhubaneswar: Wanted Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on Saturday released an audio clip threatening to explode Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar, where the 59th DG-IG conference is currently taking place.

DG-IG conference is being attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and senior police officers, has heightened security concerns.

An audio clip containing the threat was sent via email to a Bhubaneswar-based journalist, marking the second such message in three days. Unusually, the email was written in Odia, warning travelers to avoid flights from BPIA on Sunday, December 1.

Shortly after the message went viral, a suspicious bag was discovered outside Terminal-1 of the airport, prompting swift action by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel. The bag was thoroughly inspected as a precaution.

In response to the threat, a team of cyber experts from the Odisha Police visited the journalist’s residence to analyze the email’s origin. “The sender’s IP address will be examined to gather more details,” an officer said. Sources indicated the possibility of hoax threats aimed at creating panic amid several high-profile events in Odisha.

In addition to the DG-IG conference, the winter session of the Odisha Assembly is underway, and Puri will host Navy Day celebrations on December 4, with President Droupadi Murmu scheduled to attend.

Pannun, designated a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and head of the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), referred to December 1 as “D-Day” in his audio message. He urged supporters to target the DGs conference at Lok Seva Bhawan and offered rewards for those raising Khalistan flags.

Security agencies remain on high alert, monitoring the situation closely.

  1. I wonder how USA administration is allowing such threatening calls/messages emanating from its soil at regular intervals. When someone planned to kill Pannu on American soil the administration of that country reacted immediately and expressed its concern and said that it is its responsibility to protect its own citizens and that is appreciated. But at the same time USA can’t turn its head other side when its citizens are issuing threats to other nations, especially India in recent times.
