Jamshedpur/Ranchi: Jharkhand Khadi Gramodyog Board is planning to start a beekeeping centre in Jharkhand. The Board chairman Sanjay Seth and member Kulwant Singh Bunty visited the beekeeping institute run by Maharashtra Khadi Gramodyog Board in Mahabaleshwar and underwent training in beekeeping.
The duo learnt about the various stages of processing of honey and the nuances of laboratory testing involved in the process. They said a similar institute could be set up and run in Jharkhand on a large scale. This would open new avenues for job creation in Jharkhand, they said. Earlier, the two visited Mysore and visited the local bee production centre.
Bunty said Chief Minister Raghubar Das had expressed a desire to promote beekeeping in the state. He said thousands of people could gain from the business by forming groups. There is a conducive environment for beekeeping in Jharkhand, he said.
Bunty said Jharkhand could benefit from beekeeping by running a training programme and distribute bee boxes. He said the CM had expressed his desire to start beekeeping activity in Jharkhand on 15th November on the occasion of the state�s foundation day anniversary.
