Jamshedpur, Oct 15: Kerala Public School, Kadma celebrated Saarthi Diwas on October 15 as part of its ongoing Safety Week celebrations from October 13 to 17. The event aims to recognize and appreciate the school’s van and auto drivers—known as Saarthis—for their vital role in ensuring the safety of students.

The celebration was graced by Chief Guest DSP (Traffic) Neeraj Kumar, along with Principal Sharmila Mukherjee and Headmistress Alamelu Ravishankar. A melodious welcome song by the school choir set a warm tone for the occasion.

Principal Sharmila Mukherjee presented the school’s annual safety report, highlighting various safety measures implemented during the year. Students added energy to the event through speeches and a lively nukkad natak that depicted real-life safety situations and encouraged awareness.

As a gesture of gratitude, handmade roses and friendship bands were presented to the Saarthis. The drivers also took a safety pledge, administered by Dr. Vibha Jha, Hindi teacher, reaffirming their commitment to safe transport practices.

The primary students entertained the audience with a vibrant dance performance that reflected their enthusiasm for the theme of safety.
Chief Guest DSP Neeraj Kumar lauded the school’s efforts in promoting road safety and appreciated the dedication of the Saarthis in safeguarding children. The event concluded with the presentation of tokens of appreciation to the Chief Guest and all participating drivers.
The celebration emphasized that safety is a shared responsibility, and the contribution of Saarthis remains central to ensuring a secure journey for every student.
