Jamshedpur, July 17: Residents of Kendukocha in Sankosi under Mango Municipal Corporation have raised concerns over the quality of ongoing paver block road construction being meted through MLA’s fund. The locals protested that instead of sand, soil dust was being used beneath the pavers blocks. The contractor dismissed the public concern to carry out the work properly claimed that the work would be done as he deemed fit.
Some residents, frustrated by the contractor’s disregard for their concerns, approached BJP leader Vikash Singh. Upon inspecting the site, Singh filed a complaint with the Deputy Municipal Commissioner. He emphasized that sand should be used beneath the pavers blocks instead of soil dust, as improper material would lead to uneven and easily breakable blocks. Singh assured the residents that misusing public funds for development work would not be tolerated and if the construction quality did not improve, the public would be forced to take to the streets in protest.
