Kedia–Kauntia camp sweeps Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry polls, Team Sankalp wiped out

Jamshedpur: The much-anticipated elections of  the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( SCCI ), the largest trade body of Kolhan, concluded on Saturday with a resounding victory for the Kedia–Kauntia team. The team secured a near-total sweep, clinching almost all key posts and executive committee seats, leaving rival Team Sankalp decimated.

Manav Kedia had already been elected unopposed as president, while Puneet Kauntia emerged victorious as honorary general secretary, defeating Satyanarayan Agarwal Munna. Other uncontested winners from the Kedia–Kauntia team included Anil Modi (Vice President, Trade & Commerce), Rajeev Agarwal (Vice President, Taxation & Finance), Abhishek Agarwal “Goldie” (Vice President, Public Relations & Welfare), Binod Sharma (Honorary Secretary, Industry), Ansul Ringasia (Honorary Secretary), and Anil Kumar Agarwal “Ringasia” (Honorary Treasurer).

Out of 11 office-bearer posts, seven had been sealed uncontested even before polling.On polling day, voting was conducted both online and at the Chamber’s Bistupur office through a digital system. Of the 2,059 registered voters, 1,725 exercised their franchise, with 1,125 casting their votes online. At the  premises of SCCI, 600 out of 948 eligible members turned up to vote.

The election process was overseen by officials R.K. Jhunjhunwala, advocate P.S. Sen, advocate S.N. Khandelwal, advocate Rajesh Mittal, along with scrutinizers P.N. Shangari and Sheetal Swain.Harsh Agarwal (Bakrewal) won Vice President (Industries), Bharat Makani secured Honorary Secretary (Trade & Commerce), and Suresh Sharma “Lippu” was elected Honorary Secretary (Public Relations & Welfare).

For the 30 executive committee seats, 42 candidates were in the fray, but the Kedia–Kauntia camp swept nearly all, leaving not a single seat for the opposition.

The verdict was emphatic,  while Kedia–Kauntia candidates garnered good number of  votes , not one member of Team Sankalp crossed even the three-digit mark, making it a historic clean sweep.
