Jamshedpur, Sept 8: In a reshuffle of the Jharkhand police hierarchy, 18 IPS officers have been transferred. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jamshedpur, Prabhat Kumar has been removed and IPS Batch 2012 officer, Kaushal Kishore has been handed his reigns. Prabhat Kumar’s next posting has not yet been announced.
The reasons behind these transfers have not been officially stated. Other key transfers have also been effected. Chandan Kumar Singh has been named the new SSP of Ranchi, while Harish Bin Jama is now the SP of Lohardaga.
Seraikela SDPO Harvinder Singh has been made SP Gumla while SDPO Palamau Medininagar, Rishabh Garg  will take over as Rural SP in Jamshedpur. Kapil Chaudhary, the former SDPO of Chakradharpur, has been appointed Rural SP in Dhanbad. Additionally, Deepak Kumar Pandey, who recently received a promotion to the IPS rank and made Lohardaga DSP has been made SP of Garhwa. Other notable appointments include Anudeep Singh as the SP of Koderma, Animesh Kumar Nathani as SP of Jamtara, and Rajkumar Mehta as City SP of Ranchi. Manish Toppo has taken on the role of SP Rural Ranchi, and Arif Ikram, the DSP of Hazaribagh has been made SP of the Anti-Corruption Bureau. Kailash Karmali has been appointed SP of the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Jharkhand, DSP Bundu Pujya Prakash has been appointed SP of the Special Branch along with Ajay Kumar. Shambhu Kumar Singh, previously serving as DSP in Chatra, has been appointed SP of Jharkhand’s Special Branch, and Ajit Kumar has been named the new City SP of Dhanbad. These changes are effective immediately.
