Kasidih School students lead green initiative

Jamshedpur, July 7: Kasidih High School, a unit of JEM Foundation, celebrated Van Mahotsav with a series of activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness among students. The celebrations involved students, parents, and teachers from both the Primary Wing (LKG to Class V) and Middle Wing (Classes VI to VIII).

The programme began with a dance performance on the importance of protecting nature, followed by a ceremonial plantation by Principal Francis Joseph. Students participated in plantation drives, fancy dress, pot painting, art and craft, and flower illustration activities, while parents of Classes I and II also planted saplings.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Francis Joseph urged students and parents to plant more trees and care for them. Vice Principal Rakesh Pandey and Junior Coordinator Rita Mishra encouraged children to become responsible environmental stewards.

Students of Classes VI to VIII showcased creativity by making eco-friendly planters, decorative pots, and bird feeders from recycled materials. The handmade items were displayed across the campus, reinforcing the importance of recycling, biodiversity, and environmental conservation.
