Gulmohar, Srinath Public School shine at inter-school photography contest
Jamshedpur, Aug 23: On the occasion of World Photography Day, Kasidih High School’s Photography Club organized the third edition of its flagship inter-school photography contest, FOTOGRAFÍA 2025: Through the Third Lens. Known as the city’s only dedicated inter-school photography competition, the event has carved out a niche for itself by encouraging young talents to narrate stories through the power of visuals.
A total of 16 schools from across Jamshedpur participated in the day-long event. The contest opened with an inaugural ceremony at 8:30 am, attended by judges, school management, coordinators, and teacher in-charges. Senior Coordinator Barnita Basu set the tone with her inspiring address, urging participants to see photography as both an art and a medium of change. Principal Francis Joseph followed with the reminder that “every picture must tell a story,” a thought that resonated throughout the day.

The competition was divided into two categories – Event Photography and Sustainable Fashion & Fashion Photography. Renowned photographers of Jamshedpur – R. Nanda, Sardar Pratap Singh, and Brij Kishor Goswami – served as judges, carefully evaluating the creativity, timing, and storytelling skills of each entry.
In Event Photography, participants captured the vibrant essence of performances and activities, while Sustainable Fashion Photography blended style with responsibility, as students highlighted eco-friendly fashion choices. Each participant was challenged to click and submit one best shot within a limited time, leading to an intense yet imaginative display of talent.
The program also featured the presence of Chief Guest A.F. Madon, Administrator of JEM Foundation, along with Senior Manager Jiju Thomas and moderators from participating schools. The event concluded with the much-anticipated award ceremony, where applause filled the hall as the winning entries were displayed. All participants received certificates, while the winners proudly carried home trophies.
