Jamshedpur: Karim City College, Jamshedpur, took a significant step toward integrating cutting-edge technology into its curriculum by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Learnet Skills Limited, New Delhi, to launch a 40-hour short-term course on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The MoU was signed during a one-day workshop on AI, organized by the Faculty of Commerce of the college in association with Learnet Skills Ltd.
The new course, to be conducted under the Faculty of Commerce, is aimed at equipping students with practical, industry-relevant knowledge in AI and providing them with a structured learning pathway in this rapidly growing domain.
The workshop began with a welcome address by Principal Dr. Mohammad Reyaz, who said, “We are proud to partner with Learnet Skills Ltd. This collaboration is a testament to our college’s dedication to providing industry-relevant education. Together, we are creating a pathway for our students to gain practical, sought-after skills that will give them a competitive edge in the job market.”
Head of the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Md. Moazzam Nazri, introduced the workshop, emphasizing that artificial intelligence is “not just a buzzword but the future of every field.” He encouraged students to enroll in the newly launched short-term course.
Sreya Banerjee, Program Manager of Learnet Skills Ltd., Ranchi, outlined the features of the new course and its benefits for students.
The workshop also featured two resource persons: Dr. Jitesh Pradhan, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NIT Jamshedpur, who spoke about the wide applications of AI in business, transportation, healthcare, and science and technology; and Sri Mrityonjay Mitra, Vocational Coordinator, Learnet Skills Ltd., Ranchi, who explained the foundational concepts of AI in an engaging manner.
More than 400 students enthusiastically participated in the event. The proceedings were conducted by Dr. G. Vijaylakshmi, Dr. Rashmi Akhtar, and Dr. Fozia Tabassum, while Dr. Aftab Alam proposed the vote of thanks, marking the successful conclusion of the session.
